Self-Guided Birding Tours

2/21/2017

Even though the Snow Goose Festival has been canceled, you can still see many geese, swans, eagles and other birds in the area. Here are three sites that were self-guided tours.

ENGLISH BOOM
From Stanwood drive west on Hwy 532. At the top of the hill turn right onto Good Road. After about 3/4 mile that road curves to the left and becomes Utsalady Road. Go about 1 mile and turn right onto Moore Road. Follow Moore to the end of the road.

IVERSON PRESERVE
From Terry’s Corner go south on East Camano Drive. Go about 3 miles and turn left onto Russell Road. Go 1 mile and turn right onto Sunrise. Go about 1/4 mile and turn left onto Iverson Beach Road. Follow Iverson for about 1 mile to the end of the road.

BIG DITCH
From Stanwood go north on 102nd Ave NW/Old Pacific Hwy for about 2 1/2 miles. Turn left (west) onto the gravel road that's just before the railroad crossing. Follow the gravel road about 2/3 mile to the end of the road. You'll need a Discover Pass to park.
