Summer begins w/o Canoes

6/21/2015

Summer arrives today but the annual Tribal Canoe Journey is on hiatus this summer. Since the canoes won't be on the water I thought I'd share some photos from 2011 and 2012 when many paddlers visited Cama.

Buy 2 bags of Cedar Grove Compost and
get the 3rd bag FREE

Cedar Grove is celebrating everyone’s efforts to divert yard waste, food scraps, and other compostable materials from the landfill.
You’ll need to print the coupon:
http://cedar-grove.com/docs/Buy_2_get_1_online_coupon.pdf
Then find a participating retailer:
 http://cedar-grove.com/about-us/compost-days-participating-retailers
(the stores nearest to Cama Beach seem to be the Fred Meyer in Marysville, Dunn Lumber in Everett and the Ace Hardware on Evergreen in Everett. There are also participating merchants in Lynnwood, Edmonds, and Seattle)

Tidal Trivia

2/18/2015

Tonight, Wed, Feb 18, at 10:23 pm the low tide at Cama will be a -1.5 ft. Then the next high tide will be Thur morning at 5:14 am, that will be a +12.5 ft King Tide.

That’s a whopping 14 foot swing in just 7 hours. Don’t try going through Deception Pass against that current unless you’ve got lots of horsepower!

River Flooding

1/5/2015

There is a LOT of water going over Snoqualmie Falls tonight. It looks as if the river has just about peaked for this storm - but sometimes the predictions are off...

To see real-time flood info for the Snoq River: http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=sew&gage=squw1.

Closer to Cama, the storm seems to have missed some of the Stillaqumish River: http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/index.php?wfo=sew
