Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

10/9/2014

Join CBF to view the
Partial Solar Eclipse
Cama Beach State Park
Thurs Oct 23, 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Cama Beach Foundation just purchased a Dobsonian telescope (with solar filter!) so weather permitting, we can watch as the Moon moves in front of the Sun. The eclipse starts at 1:35 PM. The maximum eclipse occurs at 3:00 PM. The eclipse will be over at 4:20 PM.

WARNING: DO NOT look at the sun directly even during a partial eclipse. Eye damage can result. In addition to the telescope with solar filter, we will have some special solar glasses on hand.

October 23, 2014 Update
Well, rats! It doesn't look like the weather at Cama will cooperate for viewing the solar eclipse.

The eclipse starts today (Thurs Oct 23) at 1:35 PM. The maximum eclipse occurs at 3:00 PM. The eclipse will be over at 4:20 PM.
